COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS IN THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND AND TWENTY-SIX AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE TO GRANT AN ADDITIONAL LICENSE FOR THE SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES NOT TO BE DRUNK ON THE PREMISES SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the licensing authority of the city of Cambridge may grant 1 additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be drunk on the premises pursuant to section 15 of said chapter 138. SECTION 2. The license authorized by this act shall be initially issued for use at or about 336 Rindge Avenue in the city of Cambridge, issued to a neighborhood retail food establishment whose primary business is the sale of groceries, prepared foods, and other nonalcoholic goods, and used for off-premises consumption only. SECTION 3. The license may be transferred to any individual, partnership or corporation qualified to receive such a license in the first instance, pursuant to section 23 of said chapter 138. The licensing authority of the city of Cambridge shall restrict the license so that it shall not be transferred to another location except as provided in section 4. SECTION 4. The licensing authority may approve transfer of the license to another location within the city of Cambrdige if the licensee is displaced from 336 Rindge Avenue due to redevelopment, lease termination, or circumstances beyond the control of the licensee, provided the license continues to be used for a neighborhood retail food establishment and the new location is approved. SECTION 5. The license shall not be reissued if cancelled, revoked, surrendered, or otherwise no longer in use; provided, however, that transfers consistent with section 4 shall be permitted. SECTION 6. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
