City Manager Order

City Council, September 21, 2015

WHEREAS: On November 10, 2014, the City approved a six month Pilot Program with Bridj, 283 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02115 for a direct, flexible mass transit bus system; said Pilot Program was based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department and Bridj, dated October 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS: The Pilot Program was evaluated by the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department and the License Commission held a review hearing for a continuation of the Bridj jitney permit on September 8, 2015 and it was recommended that the Bridj jitney permit approval be continued at the end of the Pilot Program; and

WHEREAS: The recommendations of the License Commission were transmitted by the City Manager to the City Council at the meeting of September 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS: The jitney approval is subject to conditions outlined in the memo from the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department dated July 21, 2015 as follows:

ORDERED: That the City Council go on record approving the continued jitney license granted to Bridj, 283 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02115, subject to the conditions by the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department dated July 21, 2015; and be it further

ORDERED: That the City Council reserves the right to revoke the license granted.
