WHEREAS: It has come to the City Council's attention that residents of the LBJ Apartments have voiced their concern over continued speeding vehicles on Brookline Street near Erie Street, despite the raised crosswalk that had been installed to lessen the dangers associated with this issue.  Residents maintain that speeding vehicles create a potentially dangerous environment for pedestrians; now therefore be it

ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to confer with the appropriate City departments to determine whether a STOP sign might be installed at the corner of Brookline and Erie Street; and be it further

ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to report back to the City Council on the feasibility of implementing this speed control measure.
