WHEREAS: Synchronized Swimming is a sport that requires strength, agility, endurance, grace, and most of all, teamwork; and

WHEREAS: Cambridge Synchro practices at the Cambridge War Memorial Pool with the support of the Cambridge recreation department and is made up of girls between the ages of 8-18 from Cambridge and surrounding communities; and

WHEREAS: Cambridge Synchro finds a place for any girl who wants to participate in this combination of swimming, dance, and gymnastics performed in the water; and

WHEREAS: Cambridge Synchro recently competed in the Synchronized Swimming US National Junior Olmpics whee the 12 year old and under, 13-15 and 16-19 teams all finished inthe top 35 in the country, and two of their swimmers were part of a combination routine that won a silver medal competing against teams from around the worrld at the US Open in New York; now therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Cambridge City Council hereby congratulates Cambridge Synchro on their inclusiveness and their success training girls to work together to achieve their goals; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Cambridge City Council wishes Cambridge Synchro continued success in the years ahead; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Cambridge City Council encourages young girls in Cambrdige who would enjoy an exciting, challenging, and team-oriented sport to consider joining Cambridge Synchro.
