Behind the Numbers Behind the numbers, there is a dedicated and trained staff that has responded to the pandemic with expertise, bravery, and compassion. I would like to honor one of them tonight by using the words submitted by CPHD staff to honor Shamsher in the Boston Globe: Shamsher Bam has been a public health nurse with CPHD for 16 years and has worked tirelessly and passionately to care for the Cambridge community. He has spearheaded City-run COVID-19 vaccine clinics, conducted an enormous amount of contact tracing for positive, cases, and continues to work in the health department’s TB clinic during the pandemic. Shamsher is as humble as they come -- a quiet and unknown hero. 10
