Attachments shall be made with proper hardware and shall only be attached with non-corrosive metal clamps or brackets. 2. Banners attached to poles shall not exceed a total of 1800 square inches, approximately 18 inches x 48 inches, 24 inches x 36 inches, 24 inches x 48, or 30 inches x 60 inches. The actual size is subject to required clearances. 3. Banners cannot be attached to wood utility poles. 4. Banners shall have a minimum clearance of: a. 16 feet over a roadway b. 12 feet over a sidewalk 5. Banners shall not interfere with or obstruct, or otherwise block any roadway signs, lighting, or traffic signals. 6. The City reserves the right to remove, or order to be removed any banner deemed unsafe, not properly installed, or creating a hazard and the applicant may be subject to costs. 7. MIT List Visual Arts Center Dear City Council of Cambridge, On behalf of the MIT List Visual Arts Center, I am writing to apply for new banners on lamp posts: Ames Street, Memorial Drive to Main Street, and Broadway: Ames Street - M41, 2, 4, 6 M54, M52, M44, M42 = 8 TOTAL Broadway - M30, M26, M22, M18, M16, M12, M8, M6, M4, M25, M23, M21, = 12 TOTAL Broadway - M90, 38, 36, m63, 37, 39 = 6 TOTAL to direct students and public audiences to the contemporary art museum at MIT. The banners say: "New Art on View, Free to the Public, Welcome back/Now Open, Contemporary Art Museum at MIT, MIT List Visual Arts Center" with our logo and renderings of our public art, building exterior, and gallery. We intend to attach the banners this October and remove them in February 2022. Banner attachment/removal will be facilitated by Heritage Flag Co.
