Dear City Council of Cambridge, On behalf of the MIT List Visual Arts Center, I am writing to apply for new banners on lamp posts: • Ames St., Memorial Drive to Main St. (16 poles): 21, 19, M19, M17, M15, M13, M9, M7, M5, M3, M1, M2, M4, M6, M8, M10 • Ames St., Main St. to Broadway (8 poles): 6, 4, 2, M41, M42, M44, M52, M54 • Broadway, Ames St. to Third St. (8 poles): M30, M26, M22, M18, M16, M12, M8, M4 • Third St., Broadway to Main St. (2 poles): M25, M23 • Main St., Third St. to Broadway (1 pole): M21 to direct students and public audiences to the contemporary art museum at MIT. The banners say: “MIT List Visual Arts Center, Free and Open to All, The Contemporary Art Museum at MIT, Listart.mit.edu, MITList, New Art on View, Contemporary Art.” with our logo and renderings of our public art, building exterior, and exhibition artworks. We intend to attach the banners this February and remove them in October 2022. Banner attachment/removal will be facilitated by Heritage Flag Co.
