Harris Lesley Waxman To: Owen O’Riordan, Acting City Manager From: Board of Election Commissioners Date: July 26, 2022 Re: RECOMMENDATION TO ASSIGN POLICE OFFICERS FOR ALL ELECTIONS IN 2022 In accordance with MGL Chapter 54, Section 72, the City Manager recommends that the City Council approve the assignment of thirty-two (32) officers and any additional officers as needed “to preserve the order and to protect the election officers and supervisors from any interference with their duties and aide in enforcing the laws relating to elections” for all elections in 2022, with the names and specific location assignments to be determined by Cambridge Police Commissioner or designated authorized police personnel in coordination with the Executive Director of the Election Commission.
