Page 1 of 1 MEMORANDUM To: Louis A. DePasquale, City Manager From: Joseph E. Barr, Director Date: September 12, 2022 Subject: Awaiting Report 22-27 – Distribution of “Watch for Bikes” stickers This memorandum has been prepared in response to Order 1 from the May 2, 2022 City Council Meeting (Awaiting Report 22-27) requesting that the Traffic, Parking, and Transportation Department investigate the feasibility of mailing “Watch for Bikes” stickers to residents who receive a 2023 resident parking permit. These stickers are intended to be attached to the side view mirrors of cars, to remind drivers to use caution when pulling out of the parking space, as well as to remind both drivers and passengers to look out for bikes when they are opening their car door. It has been several years since we last distributed these as part of the resident parking permit renewal process, so it seems appropriate to do another distribution during the 2023 renewal season. We are currently in the process of working to have new stickers printed, since the previous supply has been exhausted, so that they can be distributed as part of the packet that residents receive with their parking permit.
