Elow Date: February 1, 2023 RE: CPD – Itemized Statement of Materials, Tools and Equipment Please find attached the Cambridge Police Department’s itemized statement of all “materials, tools, and property” it owns in accordance with Chapter 2.52 § 090 of the Cambridge Municipal Code, as of June 30, 2021, and 2022. As noted in the report, tear gas was previously located by the Police Department as part of its June 30, 2020 report and was subsequently given to the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) for proper disposal in accordance with the applicable guidelines. Tear gas is not authorized for acquisition or use under Departmental policy. Items the department has removed and taken out of service from its inventory are listed below, as are items that have already been destroyed. The Department is working to dispose of the items marked “removed for destruction” in compliance with the proper procedures for disposing of unwanted or surplus property. The items marked “removed for destruction” have been removed from service and are being held in a secure location while the Department works through the procedures for their destruction.
