Thank you Councillor McGovern for your response.
Also, if you, any other councillor, the City Clerk, Manager and Solicitor are in or may inveigh upon those who have
custodial possession of the stated petition which favors by 94% of the signatories of DCR's reverting to both
Saturday/Sunday closure of Memorial Drive, please provide a copy for review by Riverside Neighborhood Residents.
Look forward to hearing from you on any further future developments.
Wish you well in your recovery from COVID.

Hello Mr. Dobson,
My apologies for the delayed response, but between just getting over Covid and a very busy week, I'm behind on my
emails.
Regarding where the name "Riverbend Park" came from, I actually don't know, but I'm happy to dig into it. I'll get back
to you when I get some information.

Thank you Councillor Toner for acknowledging receipt of my email.
Has DCR and/or the City a written definition for the term "riverbend park"?
2
Does it pertain to a physical location defined by latitude and longitude?
Or is it a "place holder" designation used by DCR to identify projects along the course of the riverway?
By the way, is it protocol for the City Councillors, Clerk and Manager NOT to confirm receipt of email?

The residents of the Riverside neighborhood as officially denoted by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, aka Area 5
as designated by the City of Cambridge, express and extend full support and appreciation for the findings and actions
taken by The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to restore to pre-COVID status the weekend use,
access and closure of Memorial Drive to vehicular traffic as set forth in Massachusetts Law Chapter 457 of the Acts of
1985.
We strongly recommend that the Cambridge City Council retract its letter directing the City Manager to petition The
Commissioner of DCR to reverse its finding as regards this matter and that the City Council, in a show of "good faith"
to the residents, businesses and churches of the Riverside Neighborhood, rescind POR 2023 #68.
We, further, request that the City Solicitor, review and state the basis on which the City has legal "standing" in said
matter.
Respectfully,
Alan Dobson
