That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to work with the Law Department to provide a legal opinion on whether the City could fund affordable housing construction through a bond issue

O-8 FIRST IN COUNCIL May 22, 2023 City of Cambridge COUNCILLOR ZONDERVAN WHEREAS: In Awaiting Reports AR-21-30, the City Council asked the City Manager to fund the construction of subsidized housing through a bond issue of no less than $500 Million; now therefore be it ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to work with the Law Department to provide a legal opinion on whether the City could fund affordable housing construction through a bond issue; and be it further ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to report back on this matter by the end of June 2023.
