To the Honorable City Councilors of Cambridge City Council
City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue
Cambridge, MA 02139
Dear Council Members:
I am writing to respectfully request your permission to hang banners to celebrate and promote the Inman
Square commercial district, as the last part of the city's Inman Square Improvement Project Construction
Mitigation efforts. The banners will be hung in the Summer 2023 and be taken down around Summer
2025.

The request includes adding thirty (30) 30" x 60" street pole banners to be hung on poles in the
neighborhood. The banners will be double sided with the same design but different colors. The design of
the banners came from the East Cambridge Business Association, in collaboration with a local graphic
designer.
Enclosed are the three different designs for the street pole banners and the exact street poles we propose
to use, with some additional poles in the new Vellucci Plaza. A map of street poles for both this
application and the Inman Square application can be found attached to the application.
Thank you so much for your consideration of this request, and for the Council's support of this
neighborhood's commercial district.
Sincerely,
Pardis Saffari
