Communicating Information from the School Committee
This last week, I visited students at Tobin Montessori and read Halloween-themed books. I also
had the third graders from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School visit City Hall. They had many
questions about electric vehicles and what Cambridge is doing to make the environment better.
The Kindergarten Lottery for the 2024-2025 school year will open on January 2 and close on
January 31. All registrations must be fully completed, including all language testing to determine
eligibility for Program Language Bonus points. To learn more, visit the website.
The district data dashboard will launch on November 13. This will make the district data public,
transparent and easy to access. I will share the link when it is live.
Applications for Spring 2024 at Franklin Tech are open and due December 11. Please let any
student interested in applying know. Franklin Tech provides the opportunity for students to
receive their certificates in HVAC&R Technology or Software Development or their associate's
degree in construction management, or engineering technology.
Caregivers are encouraged to attend the monthly virtual dinners with Dr. Greer. Please let

Earlier this month, some high school students, who participate in the Harvard-Smithsonian
Science Research Mentoring Program, a yearlong after-school program at the Center of
Astrophysics, celebrated women in STEM at the university’s Celebrating Women
Astrophysicists and the History of Cosmic Discovery event. Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll
also attended the event.
The next regular School Committee meeting is on November 21st. Please let me know if you
