David Foley for a Curb Cut at the location of 2 Parkway Ter with a Frontage of 62.48', Setback 28.3', Distance from
surrounding structures 60', Length 12.05', Width 20' and a total Square Footage of 241.
The City Council has directed that all curb cut petitions be submitted to the appropriate Neighborhood
Associations for the locality where the curb cut would be made, so that the association may have an opportunity for
review, prior to action by the City Council.
Please indicate by return mail your approval or disapproval of the petition within twenty-one days from the date
of this letter. If the response is "disapproval" please state reasons. Be sure to sign the form and include a daytime phone
number. I have enclosed a self-addressed stamped envelope to facilitate your reply.
As soon as this office has received both the completed application and your neighborhood association response, I
will place the petition on the agenda for the next City Council meeting. If I do not receive a response from your
neighborhood organization by twenty-one days from the date of this letter, I will place the petition on the agenda for the
next City Council meeting.
If your neighborhood association cannot complete its review by twenty-one days from today, you may extend the
reply time another seven days by requesting an extension by letter to me with a copy to the petitioner. However, I urge

plans with you. We are collaborating with the highly respected Cambridge-based architecture firm, Foley Fiore
Architecture (https://www.foleyfiore.com) who have spearheaded some lovely Cambridge renovations and
builds.
Our plan involves making some essential utility upgrades and revitalizing the family room on the east side of
the house. The idea is to create an inviting gateway to the beautiful garden for our three children. Part of this
renovation includes shifting the garage to the basement level, necessitating a new driveway access from
Grozier Road. As per the City of Cambridge's protocols, we're obliged to inform our abutters, and we hope for
your support in this endeavor, whether you are a direct abutter or not.
We've included a site plan that delineates the proposed driveway location along with the application form used
by the City of Cambridge. As you can see, the location on Grozier Road, which is one-way at this portion, isn't
typically populated with parked cars due to its distance from most houses. Therefore, we anticipate minimal
disruption to on-street parking for the residents. Furthermore, to blend in with the surroundings and enhance
the green appeal of Grozier, we have proposed planting one or two mature trees alongside the curb cut at our
expense.

Greetings from your soon-to-be neighbors at 2 Parkway Terrace! We had previously reached out with an
introductory letter. Before we bring our family into this warm neighborhood, we wish to share some renovation
plans with you. We are collaborating with the highly respected Cambridge-based architecture firm, Foley Fiore
Architecture (https://www.foleyfiore.com) who have spearheaded some lovely Cambridge renovations and
builds.
Our plan involves making some essential utility upgrades and revitalizing the family room on the east side of
the house. The idea is to create an inviting gateway to the beautiful garden for our three children. Part of this
renovation includes shifting the garage to the basement level, necessitating a new driveway access from
Grozier Road. As per the City of Cambridge's protocols, we're obliged to inform our abutters, and we hope for
your support in this endeavor, whether you are a direct abutter or not.
We've included a site plan that delineates the proposed driveway location along with the application form used
by the City of Cambridge. As you can see, the location on Grozier Road, which is one-way at this portion, isn't
typically populated with parked cars due to its distance from most houses. Therefore, we anticipate minimal
disruption to on-street parking for the residents. Furthermore, to blend in with the surroundings and enhance
the green appeal of Grozier, we have proposed planting one or two mature trees alongside the curb cut at our
expense.
In this envelope, you'll also find the City's application form and a return envelope. We encourage you to reach

RE: Application for curb cut along Grozier Road for 2 Parkway Terrace
This letter is intended to provide additional information in regard to the request for a curb cut for 2
Parkway Terrace along Grozier Road.
The proposed curb cut, as indicated on the Proposed Curb Cut Site Plan' dated 7 August 2023, would be
located along the western portion of the subject property which abuts Grozier Road. This curb cut would
lead to a below-grade 2-car garage beneath the existing structure, removing the need for 2 cars to be
parked on-street in the area and the proposed curb cut would only remove a single on-street space. The
new driveway would provide the access required for the new garage and not be intended for parking due
to its location within the front yard setback. The homeowner is also suggesting a new tree well on the
southern side of the proposed curb cut to balance out with the existing tree along the northern side.
The current need for on-street parking is limited along Grozier Road due to the lower density of housing in
the area as well as Grozier having on-street parking available on both sides of the one-way street. The
majority of the houses along Grozier Road have both off-street parking spaces and garages, further
decreasing the demand for the on-street spaces. It is due to this that there are often multiple open spaces
available along Grozier Road.
A request for support from the abutters was sent by mail during the week of August 7', 2023. This
included the following addresses: 1 Parkway Terrace, 45 Fresh Pond Parkway, 33 Fresh Pond Parkway,
and 15 Grozier Road. Each package is included in this application as a record of each sent. There has
been no response from 33 Fresh Pond Parkway or 15 Grozier after a period of 8 weeks. It is expected
that the proposed curb cut should be of minimal impact to both properties due to their distance from the
subject property. The support letters from 1 Parkway and 45 Fresh Pond Parkway are attached to this
application.
