Councillor Devereux filed reconsideration of the vote taken at the City Council meeting of May 9, 2016 on Policy Order #2 as amended that the Public Safety Committee conduct a public hearing to discuss proposed changes to the current liquor license regulations and the City Council policy goals on liquor licenses, economic development, the impact on neighborhoods and local business and that the License Commission refrain from any liquor license regulations changes until said hearing before the Public Safety Committee

IN CITY COUNCIL

COUNCILLOR CHEUNG
WHEREAS:
The License Commission is proposing changes to the current liquor license
regulations; and
WHEREAS:
The City Council has a policy regarding building community efforts and street
activation; now therefore be it
ORDERED:
That the Public Safety Committee schedule a public hearing with the License
Commission to discuss the proposed changes to the current liquor license regulations
and the City Council policy goals on liquor licenses, economic development, the
impact on neighborhoods and local businesses; and be it further
ORDERED:
That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to instruct the License Commission
to refrain from any liquor license regulation changes until the hearing is held by the
Public Safety Committee; and be it further
ORDERED:
That this be referred to the Public Safety Committee.
In City Council May 9, 2016.
Adopted as amended by the affirmative vote of eight members.
