The City Council has directed that all curb cut petitions be submitted to the appropriate Neighborhood Associations for the locality where the curb cut would be made, so that the association may have an opportunity for review, prior to action by the City Council. Please indicate by return mail your approval or disapproval of the petition within twenty-one days from the date of this letter. If the response is "disapproval" please state reasons. To the Cambridge City Council, We, the residents of Westley Avenue, strongly oppose the proposed curb cut on Westley Avenue by the developers of 55 Harvey Street. There is currently too much traffic at that end of Westley Avenue where it meets Harvey Street. Adding a new garage that needs this curb cut would further congest the area. Westley Avenue is one of the narrowest streets in Cambridge. This proposed development, to change a current four-apartment building at 55 Harvey Street to a large one-family house, has already twice failed to be passed by the Cambridge Board of Zoning Appeal. Due to the opposition by the members of the Board as well as by the neighbors, the developers withdrew a similar project.
