SIGN CERTIFICATION APPLICATION
Please fill out this application to indicate the number, type, and dimensions of signage for your building. If
you are unsure of the type of sign and/or allowable dimensions, please review the following pages of this
application and Article 7.000 of the Zoning Ordinance. Please note the following additional requirements:
• All signs must receive a permit from the Inspectional Services Department (ISD) before
installation. Community Development Department certification action does NOT constitute issuance
of a permit or certification that all other code requirements have been met. Do not contract for the
fabrication of a sign until all permits have been issued, including City Council approval if necessary,
for signs in the public way.

Scope of Work
The Contractor agrees to perform the following construction services ("Work") for the Client:
1. Existing Frame Inspection and Preparation:
Inspect the existing metal awning frame to ensure it is structurally sound and
suitable for reuse.
Perform minor repairs or adjustments to the frame if necessary, at no additional
cost unless specified in advance.
2. Awning Replacement:
Remove the existing awning fabric/material from the frame without damaging the
structure.
Install a new awning similar in design, size, and color to the original, as agreed
with the Client.
• The new awning will incorporate updated business information, including the
daycare name, address, phone number, and email address, as specified by the
Client.
3. Final Installation and Testing:
• Securely attach the new awning to the existing frame, ensuring proper alignment
and stability.
Use high-quality, weather-resistant materials for durability and compliance with
local building codes.
4. Cleanup:
• Remove and dispose of all old materials and debris from the project site.
• Ensure the project site is left clean and safe upon completion.

Payment Terms
• Total Project Cost: $4,800
• Deposit: $1,600 (due upon signing this Contract).

Perform minor repairs or adjustments to the frame if necessary, at no additional
cost unless specified in advance.
2. Awning Replacement:
• Remove the existing awning fabric/material from the frame without damaging the

Install a new awning similar in design, size, and color to the original, as agreed

The new awning will incorporate updated business information, including the
daycare name, address, phone number, and email address, as specified by the

3. Final Installation and Testing:

you are unsure of the type of sign and/or allowable dimensions, please review the following pages of this
application and Article 7.000 of the Zoning Ordinance. Please note the following additional requirements:
• All signs must receive a permit from the Inspectional Services Department (ISD) before
installation. Community Development Department certification action does NOT constitute issuance
of a permit or certification that all other code requirements have been met. Do not contract for the
fabrication of a sign until all permits have been issued, including City Council approval if necessary,
for signs in the public way.
• Any sign or portion of a sign extending more than six (6) inches into the public way/sidewalk must
receive approval from the Cambridge City Council and a bond must be posted with the City Clerk. For
