I am writing to support the "City Manager's Agenda Item #5" in support of Option #1. I support option 1 because I have lived on this street for 3 years, and remember what it was like before the upgrade (to one-lane traffic). I struggled to find parking year round, but especially during the busy college year season. Also, I am a bike commuter from Spring to Fall, and I’m concerned that the extra traffic load will impact my and others safety. There are often moving trucks on my street, and I don’t know where they would park if the road were to be redesigned to include two-way traffic. Although I try to bike when the weather is nice, so also drive to work by Alewife. I haven’t been negatively impacted by the current Garden St design, and I don’t understand why it needs to change.
