COUNCILLOR CHEUNG
WHEREAS:
The City has an obligation to ensure that its parks and playgrounds are safe for all
children to use; and
WHEREAS:
It has been brought to the attention of the City Council that the crumb-rubber turf used
on some City playgrounds carry a potential health risk; and
WHEREAS:
The City Council has received numerous inquiries about replacing the crumb-rubber
turf at the Graham and Parks School; now therefore be it
ORDERED:
That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to work with the relevant City
departments to determine a suitable replacement for the crumb-rubber turf used on City
playgrounds; and be it further
ORDERED:
That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to work with the relevant City
departments to determine the feasibility of replacing all crumb-rubber turfs in the City
with a suitable replacement.
