Central Square Business Improvement District Attn: Cambridge City Council 795 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02139 May 28, 2025 The Honorable Cambridge City Council, I'm writing on behalf of the Central Square Business Improvement District (BID) to respectfully request approval for our street pole banner proposal in support of "Central Got Pride," a year- round campaign celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, inclusivity, and the vibrant, expressive spirit of Cambridge. "Central Got Pride" embodies our district's commitment to fostering belonging, creativity, and resilience. While Pride Month in June is a national moment of recognition, this campaign asserts that inclusivity and love deserve to be visible every month, all year long. Our proposed banners are designed to share space with the recently approved Cambridge Community Foundation (CCF) pole banners. Recognizing the Council's support for the CCI banners, we propose a complementary plan where "Central Got Pride" banners are installed or every other pole, ensuring both campaigns shine. This campaign was made possible by a grant from the Office of Economic Opportunity and Development, whose support has helped bring this vision to life. The proposed installation period would begin in June and extend into the fall, aligning with the spirit of both campaigns and ensuring their visibility to residents and visitors alike. In addition to the banners, we plan to integrate the graphics into other public-facing spaces in Central Square to maximize reach and impact. Thank you for considering this proposal. We believe this collaboration, both with the City and with CCF, showcases Cambridge's commitment to diversity and inclusion, celebrating what makes our community special. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or for further information. incerely, President, Central Square BID
