Attachment E Out of Town News Kiosk Harvard Square Redesign Process Cambridge City Hall Wednesday September 28, 2016 Our Harvard Square: The Harvard Square Kiosk is one of Cambridge's most beloved and iconic structures. OurHarvardSQ is a group of stakeholders who seek to forge a collaborative design process for the Harvard Square Redesign. Our Goals: COLLABORATIVE PROCESS A collaborative and transparent process between community members, the City of Cambridge, and all the different stakeholders will ensure the best design outcome for the redesign of Harvard Square. LANDMARK STATUS We seek support from Cambridge City Council, the City of Cambridge and the Historical Commission to secure Landmark Status for the Harvard Square Kiosk. DESIGN COMPETITION The Design Competition would build upon the foundational groundwork done by the City of Cambridge and would include the Harvard Square Kiosk and the surrounding plaza. TASK FORCE MEMBERSHIP We seek a diverse Harvard Square Redesign task torce that includes representation trom: Ourharvarasa; City agencies (CDD, DPW); Harvard Square merchants; the design community; the extended Harvard Square community including local institutions and individuals.
