We seek to inform our neighbors on Shady Hill Square, address any question that may arise, and request their consent. The main objective for extending the curb cut is to make the existing parking space easier to use, particularly for drop-off/pickup times by our nanny. Of importance, this extension does not have any substantial impact on street parking. We have asked our architect to check the standard size for a street parking spot, and we can confirm that based on this measure there is not currently the space for 2 spots between the end of Suzanne's curb and the start of ours. Using another pragmatic measure: we parked our 2 cars unrealistically close to one another, and it does not fit: the front of one car blocks part of our driveway (please see picture) even though they were parked very close to each other and starting at the very end of Suzanne's curb. Based on this, we believe that this project would not have any substantial impact on street parking. If anything, it will allow us to use our driveway more easily, particularly on these days of street cleaning, therefore freeing up space.
