City of Cambridge O-10 IN CITY COUNCIL October 17, 2016 COUNCILLOR DEVEREUX COUNCILLOR KELLEY COUNCILLOR CARLONE COUNCILLOR MAZEN ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to direct the City Solicitor, in coordination with staff at the Public Health Department, Inspectional Services, the License Commission and the Fire Department, to recommend the most appropriate and expedient actions, to include proposed ordinance and/or regulatory language, to identify and address the public health threats and detriments to residents’ quality of life caused by commercial establishments operating wood-fired ovens and/or to ban the use by commercial establishments of wood-fired ovens, and be it further ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to report back to the Council as soon as possible with an outline for drafting possible legislation and other recommendations for interim actions to identify and address the public health impacts of any commercial wood-fired ovens currently operating in the city and/or to ban the use of wood-fired ovens by commercial establishments.
