After discussion, the Chair moved that the Board grant the variance for relief in order to install two signs on the building based on the finding that a literal enforcement of the provisions of the Ordinance would involve a substantial hardship to the petitioner. The Chair moved that the Board find that in order to comply with the Ordinance, the locations of any signage would be impractical at this particular location due to the unique size and configuration of the building. The Chair moved that the Board find that the hardship is owing to the size of the building and to the layout, which makes any compliant signage impractical, and to the desire to have some recognition of the establishment.
