WHEREAS:
On November 21, 2016, the City Council passed a Policy Order forwarding language
for a potential Surveillance Ordinance to the City Solicitor’s office to be vetted and
transcribed in a way that would allow it to be ultimately referred to the Ordinance
Committee for consideration at a future hearing; and
WHEREAS:
On February 6, 2017 the City Council passed a Policy Order asking the City Manager
to confer with the City Solicitor’s office and update the City Council on the vetting
process within two months; and
WHEREAS:
It has been over two months since the order on February 6th passed and the City
Council has not received an update on the development of language for a potential
Surveillance Ordinance; now therefore be it
ORDERED:
That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to work with the City Solicitor’s
office and update the City Council by the April 10, 2017 City Council meeting.
