MAYOR SIMMONS
WHEREAS:
The Office of the Mayor has, over the past Council term, worked to strengthen the
working relationship between the City and the leaders of the local Interfaith
community on areas of common concern, and the representatives of this community
have urged the City to establish a more formal, more durable office to continue this
mutually beneficial partnership; now therefore be it
ORDERED:
That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to consult with the appropriate City
departments to determine the feasibility of establishing a formal Office of Interfaith
Initiatives, and to report back to the City Council on how such a concept can be
realized in a timely manner.
