City of Cambridge O-15 ORIGINAL ORDER IN CITY COUNCIL February 26, 2018 COUNCILLOR MALLON COUNCILLOR CARLONE MAYOR MCGOVERN WHEREAS: It has come to the City Council’s attention that the Mobil Gas Station, located at 808/812 Memorial Drive, has applied for a malt and wine beverages liquor license; and WHEREAS: The application for said license has been met with significant opposition from the residents of 808/812 Memorial Drive, with many residents voicing concerns that the increased availability of alcohol in this location could potentially negatively impact them, particularly school-age/minor children, religious communities, and seniors who live there; and WHEREAS: No other gas station in Cambridge has been granted a license to sell alcoholic beverages of any kind; now therefore be it ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to direct the License Commission and any other relevant City department to take appropriate measures to ensure that the residents of 808/812 Memorial Drive are given adequate opportunity to weigh in with their concerns prior to any final decisions on this matter.
