City of Cambridge O-3 ORIGINAL ORDER IN CITY COUNCIL May 7, 2018 COUNCILLOR TOOMEY WHEREAS: It has come to the attention of the City Council that Rufo Road in East Cambridge is still in need of critical repair; and WHEREAS: Rufo Road is a heavily traveled roadway which serves as a connector to important resources for residents such as the Cambridge Health Alliance, the shopping plaza and athletic fields; and WHEREAS: The City Council has repeatedly requested that the City repair Rufo Road; and WHEREAS: The City contracted with a surveyor to conduct research on the ownership of Rufo Road where it was established that Cambridge owns the majority of Rufo Road; and WHEREAS: This recent winter further exasperated the problem; and WHEREAS: The continued deterioration of Rufo Road presents a danger to pedestrians, motor vehicles, and cyclists; now therefore be it ORDERED: The City Manager be and hereby is requested to direct the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works to immediately and permanently repair Rufo Road and report back to the City Council by the May 14, 2018 City Council meeting.
