CMA 2018 #113·Council meeting May 14, 2018·1 page·📄 Original PDF (city portal)
City of Cambridge Department of Public Works Owen O'Riordan, Commissioner 147 Hampshire Street Cambridge, MA 02139 theworks@cambridgema.gov Voice: [phone removed] TDD: [phone removed] January 11, 2018 To: Louis DePasquale City Manager From: Katherine F. Watkins, City Engineer Re: Awaiting Report 18-20, dated February 5, 2018 and Awaiting Report Item Number 18-51, dated May 7, 2018 RE: Rufo Road In response to the above Awaiting Report items regarding Rufo Road, please be advised of the following: RUFO ROAD: Rufo Road was developed as a private way and is not a publicly accepted street. It is partially located in Cambridge and partially located in Somerville. In 1997, the portion located in Cambridge was taken by the City for tax purposes. The reconstruction of the portion of Rufo Road located in Cambridge will be included in the upcoming construction on Gore Street. City staff will work with the City of Somerville to coordinate improvements, with the goal of having the entirety of Rufo Road reconstructed at that time. We would propose to accept the Cambridge portion of Rufo Road as a public street once the construction is completed. City crews have and will continue to fill the potholes to address immediate concerns with the condition of the street and will continue to monitor until full restoration is completed. .
