Re: Awaiting Report 18-54 – Revitalization of Gannett-Warren Pals Park
In response to the above awaiting report the following improvements have been made at the
Gannett-Warren Pals Park on Jefferson Street:
(1) The large rubber surface has been
completed replaced around the
primary playground in the park.
This work was completed during
the spring of 2018.
(2) Umbrellas have been added to the
various picnic benches and tables.
Such were added earlier this
summer and have provided more
shade for families and neighbors
who use the park.
(3) The underbrush was thinned
substantially to provide a
reasonable view corridor from the
street and playground area of the
park to the water play and green
area at the rear of the park. This
work was completed in the spring
of 2018 and allows parents better
keep an eye on children and
provides less opportunity for anti-
social behavior at the rear of the
park.
(4) Finally, the water play in the area has been turned on throughout the entire summer
between dawn and dusk. The entire control system needs to be rebuilt this fall and
winter and such is presently being scheduled.
