STATE STATUTES ACCEPTANCE
Attached you will find copies of two home rule petitions filed by the City of Cambridge that were passed
by the Legislature. They are as follows:
Chapter 89 of the Acts of 2017 the same being "AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE TO USE
CERTAIN LAND ACQUIRED FOR PARK, PLAYGROUND OR RECREATION PURPOSES FOR OTHER MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES."
Chapter 93 of the Acts of 2018 the same being "AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF RETIRED
POLICE OFFICERS AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS FOR PAID DETAIL ASSIGNMENTS IN THE CITY OF
CAMBRIDGE."
Please be advised that the two statutes require acceptance by the City Council of the City of Cambridge.
I have also attached three proposed orders for adoption by the City Council. Upon adoption of these
three orders they will be added to the Statutes Accepted section of the Municipal Code for the next
supplement update.
Your kind attention in this matter will be greatly accepted.

ORDERED:
That the City Council go on record accepting the provision of Chapter 89 of the
Acts of 2017, the same being "AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE
TO USE CERTAIN LAND ACQUIRED FOR PARK, PLAYGROUND OR RECREATION
PURPOSES FOR OTHER MUNICIPAL PURPOSES."
ORDERED:
That the City Council go on record accepting the provision of Chapter 93 of the
Acts of 2018, the same being "AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF
RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS FOR PAID DETAIL
