City of Cambridge O-11 ORIGINAL ORDER IN CITY COUNCIL April 8, 2019 COUNCILLOR TOOMEY MAYOR MCGOVERN VICE MAYOR DEVEREUX COUNCILLOR MALLON WHEREAS: In May of 2018, the City Council voted to direct the Recycling Division of the Department of Public Works to study the feasibility of expanding the curbside composting program to small businesses and non-profits in the City by the end of 2019; and WHEREAS: With the recent appropriation of $300,000 to expand the curbside organics program to 13+ unit households in FY20 and the upcoming budget hearings for FY20, it would be beneficial to receive an update on the status of the City’s studies about the proposed expansion; now therefore be it ORDERED: That the City Manager be and hereby is requested to direct the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works to provide an update on the feasibility study of expanding curbside composting program to small businesses and non-profits by the end of 2019.
