GENTRAL SQUARE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION Attn: Cambridge City Council 795 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02139 The Honorable, Cambridge City Council, I am writing on behalf of the Central Square Business Association and Cambridge Arts Council to request your support to install a series of banners along Massachusetts Avenue designed to celebrate and highlight the redesignation of Central Square as one of the principal Cultural Districts in the Commonwealth of MA. As you know, the strength and vibrancy of Central Square as a local and regional destination is characterized by such things as: Community, Arts & Culture, Food, Technology, and City Government - which all happen here in Central Sq. Working with the Cambridge Arts Council and stakeholders throughout the Square, we have developed unique signage that celebrates these key attributes. We believe that the vibrant and engaging visuals enclosed will serve the important goals and opportunities of place-making and place-keeping for Central Square. Along with the banner visuals, I have also attached a map of the intended locations for display. Following your review and consideration, I hope you will agree and approve the installation of these banner highlighting everything that HAPPENS HERE in Central Square. These banners are temporary, and we are requesting that they be erected upon your approval until mid-summer when they will be taken down. Thank you in advance for your consideration and please let me know if you have any question or require any further information. Sincerely, Michael Monestime Wichaet Monestine Executive Director, CSBA
