Best wishes to Paddy's on their 9th Annual 5K Cambridge Classic and congratulations on their 85th Anniversary Celebration on September 29, 2019

City of Cambridge R-6 Amended Order IN CITY COUNCIL September 23, 2019 COUNCILLOR TOOMEY WHEREAS: It has come to the attention of the City Council that the 9th Annual Paddy’s 5K Cambridge Classic and their 85th Anniversary Celebration will be occurring on September 29, 2019; and WHEREAS: The road race benefits girl sports in Cambridge such as the Cambridge Girls Softball League, the Title IX Girls Running Club and Cambridge Rindge and Latin Girls Basketball, and to date has raised over $75,000; and WHEREAS: Paddy’s is a third-generation female-owned small business and has played an integral role in making Cambridge a vibrant community since they opened their doors in 1934; now therefore be it RESOLVED: That the City Council go on record extending its best wishes to Paddy’s on their 5K Classic, congratulating them on the occasion of their 85th anniversary, thanking them for their contributions to the Cambridge community, wishing them continued future success and urging Cambridge residents to be cognizant of these events; and be it further RESOLVED: That the City Clerk be and hereby is requested to forward a suitably engrossed copy of this resolution to Ruth Ryan Allen, owner of Paddy’s, on behalf of the entire City Council.
