Bridges House (74 Oxford Street/43 Wendell Street) landmark designation report and CHC recommendation Attached please find the Final Landmark Designation Report for the George E. Bridges House at 74 Oxford Street/43 Wendell Street. On November 7, the Cambridge Historical Commission voted unanimously to approve the designation report and recommendations, finding that the property meets the criteria in the ordinance for landmark designation and to forward the report to the City Council with a positive recommendation for designation. The owner's representative, William Senné, was present at the hearing and registered no objections to landmark designation of the property. At the same hearing, the Historical Commission approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for the renovations, additions, and site work proposed by the owner for a three-unit residence. We received written correspondence and testimony from a several members of the public in favor of landmark designation to protect the historic character of the property and the character of its setting on a prominent corner in the Agassiz neighborhood. Please let me know if you have any questions.
