On December 5 the Cambridge Historical Commission voted unanimously to support the recommendations of the Study Committee. Additionally, the Planning Board reviewed the recommendations at its December 17 meeting and offered positive comments though it did not take a formal vote. The Study Committee was appointed in August 2017 and met regularly through July 2019. The Committee’s recommendations focus on refinements to the goals and guidelines of the district and matters of jurisdiction. The report concludes with a proposed amendment to the Order establishing the district with revised goals, guidelines, and standards for review. The report also repeats the recommendation of the 2000 Committee that the Harvard Square Conservation District Goals and Guidelines be incorporated into the Harvard Square Overlay District.
