Sullivan, Executive Director Re: St. Augustine’s African Orthodox Church (137 Allston Street) landmark designation report and CHC recommendation Attached please find the Final Landmark Designation Report for the St. Augustine’s African Orthodox Church at 137 Allston Street in Cambridgeport. On February 4, 2021, the Cambridge Historical Commission voted unanimously to approve the designation report and recommendations, finding that the property meets the criteria in the ordinance for landmark designation and to forward the report to the City Council with a positive recommendation for designation. Church representatives, including the pastor Rev. Charles Eccles, were present at the hearing and registered support for the proposed landmark designation.
