RES 2026-94 FIRST IN COUNCIL June 1, 2026 City of Cambridge MAYOR SIDDIQUI WHEREAS: The Cambridge Ringe & Latin School (CRLS) boys’ baseball team, under the leadership of coach Robert Merill and his co-staff members, won the Dual County League championship for the first time since joining the league in 2015, finishing the regular season with a record of 17 wins and 2 losses; and WHEREAS: The CRLS boys’ baseball team had a dominating season, outscoring their opponents 142 runs to 58, including a 10-game winning streak, thanks to the dedication, talent, and teamwork demonstrated by its players throughout the season; and WHEREAS: The team will now advance to compete in the MIAA Division I state tournament as the 9th seed in the power rankings and 14th in Eastern Massachusetts, representing Cambridge with pride and sportsmanship; and WHEREAS: The City of Cambridge would like to congratulate the members of the CRLS boys’ baseball team on their successful regular season, which includes Ari Maslan, Jasen Thomas, Linus Henke, Oliver Henke, Stefan Alexandrov, Hugo Davis, Nikko Santos, Xavier Santos, Mont Phelps, Joshua Silber, Logan Sherwood, Joel Rojas- Cruz, Campbell Callahan, Conor Brown, Tate Schoenau, Theo Seidman, Henry Kelsey, Issei Umeki, Asa Brown; and WHEREAS: The City of Cambridge would also like to recognize the coaching staff for their dedication and mentorship to the team, which includes Robert Merrill, Rich Beyer, Mike Peterson, Zach Christensen, Jim Coleman, Chris Coleman, David Tapia, Henderson Campusano; now therefore be it RESOLVED: That the City Council go on record congratulating the CRLS boys’ baseball team and coaching staff on their well-deserved Dual County League championship and wishing them continued success as they move on to the MIAA Division I state tournament; and be it further RESOLVED: That the City Clerk be and hereby is requested to forward suitably engrossed copies of this resolution to the CRLS boys’ baseball team and coaching staff on behalf of the entire City Council.
