To the Honorable, the City Council:
I am hereby requesting the appropriation of a Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources
Grant, in the amount of $10,000, to the Grant Fund Department of Public Works Other Ordinary
Maintenance account.
Funds will be used to support the replacement of three existing raised planting beds with three ADA-
compliant beds at Costa Lopez Taylor Park located on Charles Street in East Cambridge. Costa Lopez
Taylor Park features an expanded "pocket park" space with community garden plots in raised planting
beds, along with tables, chairs, benches and sitting walls, and a sculptural entrance gate. The new
planting beds will be taller, so individuals can access the planting bed either standing or in a seated
position.
