CMA 2026-201 IN CITY COUNCIL June 22, 2026 To the Honorable, the City Council: I am hereby requesting an additional appropriation of a Sports and Entertainment Events Fund Grant, in the amount of $26,000, received from the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism to the Grant Fund Executive Department Salaries and Wages account. Funds will be used to support six World Cup Watch party activations across Cambridge during June 2026. The City of Cambridge, in partnership with business associations, will host World Cup watch parties which are free and open to the public. The additional grant funds will be used to support public safety activities performed by Fire Department, Police Department, and the Department of Public Works in conjunction with the events which are designed to bring Cambridge’s global community together and attract visitors to the city.
