Celebrating the Cambridge Arlington 7/8 Grade Boys Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse Division 2 Select Championship

RES 2026-101 FIRST IN COUNCIL June 22, 2026 City of Cambridge COUNCILLOR ZUSY WHEREAS: Cambridge Youth Lacrosse is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing boys and girls lacrosse in Cambridge by providing inclusive, development-focused, and community-centered athletic opportunities for youth of all skill levels; and WHEREAS: Cambridge Youth Lacrosse fields boys and girls travel teams across all grade levels, along with an introductory co-ed development program, fostering early engagement, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for athletics among Cambridge’s young people; and WHEREAS: The Cambridge-Arlington 7/8 Grade Boys Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse Division 2 Select team, known as the Arlington-Cambridge Demolition Crew or AC/DC, is comprised of 10 Cambridge team members who demonstrated exceptional teamwork, perseverance, and competitive excellence throughout the 2026 season; and WHEREAS: In the Division 2 championship game, AC/DC mounted a remarkable second‑half surge, securing a decisive 10–4 victory; and WHEREAS: The achievements of AC/DC reinforce the values of resilience, cooperation, and community pride that Cambridge Youth Lacrosse instills in its athletes, and further strengthen the bond between Cambridge and Arlington youth through shared teamwork and success; now therefore be it WHEREAS: That the City Council go on record celebrating the Cambridge‑Arlington 7/8 Grade Boys Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse Division 2 Select team's championship victory and recognizing the athletes, coaches, families, and volunteers whose dedication, effort, and community spirit made this extraordinary achievement possible; and be it further WHEREAS: That the City Council extends its heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Arlington-Cambridge Demolition Crew for their outstanding season and for representing the City of Cambridge with excellence, determination, and pride.
