CMA 2026-233 IN CITY COUNCIL August 3, 2026 To the Honorable, the City Council: I am hereby requesting the appropriation of a grant, in the amount of $179,500, received from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission Community Mitigation Fund to the Grant Fund Community Development Department Other Ordinary Maintenance account ($120,000); and the Grant Fund Department of Transportation Extraordinary Expenditures account ($59,500). Funds will be used to support Cambridge Business Districts location on major casino corridor routes with placemaking, special event support, and marketing assistance, as well as for intersection safety improvements along the Prospect Street corridor. The Gaming Commission Community Mitigation Fund was created to help communities offset costs related to the construction and operation of a gaming establishment. The Municipal Block Grant Program provides funds for eligible communities to mitigate casino related impacts.
