The appropriation of a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Woman (OVW), through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety for $37,500 to the Grant Fund Police Department Salaries and Wages account. This award has been made to the City from the OVW under their VAWA Stop Recovery Act Grant Program and will be used by the Police Department to develop and strengthen effective responses to violence against women by hiring a Domestic Violence Advocate to assist with the High Risk Assessment Team
