Every Cambridge city council since the 2002 term — 13 terms, 31 people. Councils are elected in November of odd years and seated the following January, for two years.

Where this comes from

Every row is drawn from the city's own record — inaugural minutes, roll calls, and, where a seat changed hands mid-term, the minutes that mark the change. Names appear as each member uses them; the formal name in the minutes is what the record matches votes against.

The roster begins with the 2002 term. Councils before that are not yet on the record. Cambridge voted for the Council-Manager form of government on November 5, 1940, 25,873 to 18,310; the first council elected under it took its seats in January 1942. That leaves thirty councils still to come, and they will be built from the city's own records — the Election Commission's counts and the City Clerk's minutes — the same way these were.
