Dear Council Members:
I am writing to respectfully request your permission to hang banners to celebrate and promote the neighborhood of Inman Square, as a part of the City’s Inman Square Construction Mitigation efforts. The banners would be hung in the Spring 2021 and be taken down no earlier than that Fall of 2023.
The request includes twenty-nine (29) 24” X 48” street pole banners to be hung on poles in the neighborhood. The banners will be double sided so they will look the same from both sides.
Enclosed are the designs for the street pole banners and the exact street poles we propose to use. The designs were made in collaboration with the East Cambridge Business Association. A map of street poles for both this application and the Inman Square application can be found here:

Attachment to Poles:
Attachments shall be made with proper hardware as prescribed. The submitted banner design is 2’ wide x 3’ high, which is a total of 864 square inches. Banners will be attached to cobra lamp poles and we believe will have more than 16 foot clearance over the roadway. One location, noted in the attached, may present an obstruction to a traffic signal. We ask the Electrical Department to advise in this instance. The banner will be made of b/o stock material.
