A temporary banner along Huron Ave pole #62, 65, 66, 70 and 73 announcing Huron Village on June 9, 2025

Dear Councilors, Clerk, and Aides. On behalf of many of our neighbors and local small businesses, I write to ask the permission to reinstall the Huron Village banners that used to decorate the light poles in our neighborhood. I have filed the application with the electrical department. Cristina was kind enough to pull out an old photo of the banners and I would welcome any guidance if any of you know where these were made and how to order new ones.

They would be hung on the existing brackets or the old ones used to be on five lamp poles along here on Ave between Fayerweather and Lakeview avenues. The previous ones were here for at least 7 years, and there is no reason that we can think of why The replacements should not be able to stay in place until somebody has reason to ask for their removal. Cell phone: [phone removed] Email: [email removed] NOTES 1) We are asking for the replacement of the Huron Village banners that were reviously installed along this stretch of Huron ave.; the City Offices provided us vith a photo of them, but I unfortunately do not have any original materia 2) the brackets (horizontal top and bottom rods) that held the former banners are still in place on the poles; a needed improvement would be to have a transversal pin at the end of each rod so that in gusty winds the banners don't slip off the rods and "take flight" ;) (as happened to the former ones). Many thanks for your kind assistance in re-beautifying our street lamp poles!

Attachments to Poles:

1. Attachments shall be made with proper hardware and shall only be attached with non-corrosive metal clamps or brackets. 2. Banners attached to poles shall not exceed a total of 1800 square inches, approximately 18 inches x 48 inches, 24 inches x 36 inches, 24 inches × 48, or 30 inches x 60 inches. The actual size is subject to required clearances. 3. Banners cannot be attached to wood utility poles. 4. Banners shall have a minimum clearance of: a. 16 feet over a roadway b. 12 feet over a sidewalk 5.

Banners shall not interfere with or obstruct, or otherwise block any roadway signs, lighting, or traffic signals. 6. The City reserves the right to remove, or order to be removed any banner deemed unsafe, not properly installed, or creating a hazard and the applicant may be subject to costs. 7. An applicant must provide a description of the materials the banner is made of, method of attachment, and means of installation (contractor name and contact information).
