Dear Manager Rossi, With appreciation for the support that you and your staff have provided to the MassDOT Kendall Square Mobility Task Force, 1 am writing to offer the partnership of both MassDO and the MBTA on the consideration of future uses for the Grand Junction corridor. As you know, the Grand Junction is primarily a Commonwealth-owned asset and an important rail corridor for both passenger and freight purposes, but we recognize that its future uses are of keen interest of the City of Cambridge.

Over the next months, we will work with the City of Cambridge to wrap up the deliverables from the current phase of the Mobility Task Force. During and subsequent to that effort, we look forward to working with you to evaluate appropriate future uses for the Grand Junction, including the possibility of including, where feasible, pedestrian and bicycle accomodations within the right-of-way of the rail corridor.
