In August 2017 CPD patrol was ordered to increase the presence of bicycle officers assigned to the area. In September of 2017, the department included Clement Morgan Park as part of its “High- Visibility Patrol” (HVP) strategy.

Using a Mobile-Command Post (MCP), high-visibility patrol deploys a cadre of officers assigned to a combination of cruisers, bicycles and walking foot-beats to saturate an area at unscheduled intervals for undetermined lengths of times. o High-Visibility Patrol supplements police resources that are normally assigned to an area.

Between 7/1/2017 and 9/21/2017 there have been two-hundred and twenty (220) calls for service at Clement Morgan Park; one-hundred and eighty-eight (188) [or 85.45%] have been “Directed Patrols” initiated by Cambridge Police.

Members of the Cambridge Police Department will continue efforts to improve neighborhood safety in the area.

Respectfully,

Branville G. Bard, Jr.

Police Commissioner
